      Space for a jumper

      Belt slides about

      The coat is lush and roomy over knitwear. My only grumble is that the belt slips if I don't tie it firmly, but a double knot fixes that.

      Over a wedding dress

      The belt does it

      Cinch the belt and the long black coat turns properly shapely; leave it loose and it's slouchy. Either way I feel like a film character on the walk to work.

    Yes. The cut is relaxed, so a medium-weight knit fits underneath at your usual size.

    How long is it?

    It falls close to the ankle. It will sit a little higher on a shorter frame.

    Does it have a belt?

    Yes. The belt is part of the coat, so you can pull in the waist or leave it loose.

    How do I look after it?

    Dry cleaning is the safest choice. Steam it to remove creases and hang it on a wide hanger.
